The Challenge

Hit Promotional Products, the iconic and largest promotional products manufacturer in the US, is nationally recognized for providing best value and exceptional buyer experience to their customers. In continuing their pledge to offer great service, competitive pricing, and a wide range of products to loyal customers, Hit embarked on an ambitious multiyear initiative to reimagine its business processes end-to-end.


Hit wanted to implement “lights out” robotic solutions to manufacture and package their brand products. Facing both rapid growth and marketplace disruption, Hit wanted to increase productivity and reduce its operational costs. Hit chose RIOS Intelligent Machines as their key strategic partner to make these big changes to continue delighting their customers and thrive into the twenty-first century.

The Solution

RIOS deployed robotic workcells that would provide customers with a high-quality product at a better value while decreasing order fulfillment time. RIOS initially deployed its HERMES fleet within 60 days that are designed to package tens of thousands of items daily at its peak. Over 200,000 products were packaged in the first 2 months of operation, and millions of items were packaged since rollout. RIOS subsequently deployed its ASTRIA fleet to aid the production of branded hand sanitizers. The success of these initial deployments has led Hit to work with RIOS to deploy a new batch of 100s of robotic workcells.
