WHAT WE DO
WE DEVELOP DEXTEROUS AI-POWERED ROBOTS
RIOS develops and deploys dexterous AI-powered robots to factory assembly lines and warehouses to help global customers automate their supply chain or logistics operations. We’ve developed a first-of-its-kind haptic intelligence platform for robots – this enables our robot to handle hard-to-automate tasks that typically require human-level-dexterity and involve manipulating thousands of SKUs. Our robots possess higher levels of dexterity, cognitive skills, and autonomy than today's robots and operate in unstructured environments.
WE PROVIDE FACTORY AUTOMATION-AS-A-SERVICE
As a business, RIOS provides “factory automation-as-a-service” in a broad range of industries including manufacturing, food services, agriculture, and biochemical. This all-inclusive automation service requires no upfront capital commitment and is mostly operating expenses. RIOS not only automates individual lines, but also pushes the boundary of automation by building full “lights out” factories for its customers by partnering with its network of preferred systems integrators. RIOS thrives on delivering seamless automation at scale combined with a frictionless customer experience.
WHY WE'RE HERE
WE BELIEVE IN AUGMENTING HUMANS WITH MACHINES, NOT REPLACING THEM
We are facing a global workforce crisis, in which it is becoming increasingly difficult to find minimum-wage workers to perform low-paying and strenuous jobs. Developed countries like Japan and Germany are already feeling the deep scars of labor shortage and labor turnover, and it is a matter of time before the rest of the world follows. We saw a need for a different kind of technology that would solve this trillion-dollar problem – a new class of dexterous and intelligent machines that would augment humans in factories by taking over dull / demeaning, dirty and dangerous jobs.
WHERE WE'RE GOING
WE ARE HELPING BUILD FACTORIES OF THE
FUTURE AND CREATING NEW INDUSTRIES
We are working towards the ambitious goal of building a future in which factories across every industry are fully-automated as they were designed – to be able to address surges in customer demands, to be more resilient to “Acts of God” like pandemics, to establish more local supply chains, to consistently deliver value to customers, and importantly to solve the global workforce crisis. Our long-term goal is “robots everywhere”, including ‘Jetson-esque’ robots doing chores in your home, and robots that can take care of the elderly.
